Carter was supposed to be heading home, back to his mother before her disease took hold. Instead, he finds himself somewhere he shouldn’t be—the past. With nothing but his car, a bag of clothes, and a phone that barely works, he’s left with more questions than answers.

How did he get here? Why is time pulling him further away from home? And, more importantly, how does he get back?

As the days slip by, Carter realizes time isn’t just something to be measured. He discovers, slowly and then all at once, that time has an agenda. The longer he stays in the wrong year, the harder it gets to remember where he was trying to get to.
